Arsenal's interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers' winger Pedro Neto has been further fuelled by the news that Braga's Rodrigo Gomes is set to make a £12.7million move to Molineux.

Highly-rated 20 year old winger, Gomes, is expected to undergo a medical with Wolves later this week before signing a long-term deal that will keep him at the Midlands club until 2029. Gomes netted seven goals in 30 league games while on loan at Estoril Praia during the 2023/24 season.

Despite Atletico Madrid closely monitoring the young prospect, Wolves have reportedly won the race for his signature, according to the BBC. Meanwhile, Pedro Neto has been on the radar of Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar for some time now.

The news of Wolves securing a potential replacement for Neto will likely be welcomed by Edu. With Wolves set to welcome a new winger, this could potentially impact Neto's future and prompt Arsenal to make a move to bring the talented player to the Emirates Stadium, reports Football London.

Despite being sidelined for 19 games this season due to two separate hamstring injuries, Neto managed to provide 11 assists in 24 games - a testament to his productivity when fit. However, Mikel Arteta might be deterred from bringing the star player to north London due to his consistent injury issues.

An ankle injury in the 2022/23 season kept Neto out for 127 days, while a knee injury in 2021 saw him sidelined for almost a year. Wolves' star player, who is under contract until 2027, won't be let go on the cheap - especially considering they shelled out around £18m to bring him in from Lazio back in 2019.

Arsenal's Arteta and Edu are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, with rumours swirling about their interest in a host of top-tier players ahead of the new season. The Gunners have been linked with Slovenian hotshot Benjamin Sesko, who bagged 18 goals in 42 games for RB Leipzig last season.

However, they'll face stiff competition from Chelsea, who are also reportedly eyeing the 21 year old. Aston Villa's midfield dynamo Douglas Luiz is another name that has been associated with Arsenal, but prising him away from Unai Emery could prove challenging as he's currently enjoying his time at Villa Park.

If they fail to land the Brazilian, they might turn their attention to Bruno Guimaraes or Amadou Onana to bolster their midfield. The Gunners are aiming to improve on last season's performance after losing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City.
