Melissa McCarthy is looking happier than ever as she took to the red carpet in New York.

The Bridesmaids actress stunned at the live recording of the Criminal podcast on Tuesday, held at Tribeca Film Festival. Recorded at OKX Theater in New York, Melissa posed for shutterbugs on the red carpet at the star-studded bash, beaming with joy.

The 53-year-old showed off her much slimmer frame, smiling for snappers wearing an all-creme/off-white ensemble. Complete with a button-up floral blouse, Melissa accessorised her smart-casual get-up with a Valentino belt, cinching in her waist.

Finishing her look with a simple face of make-up, the actress looked effortlessly chic as she strutted her stuff for photographers. It was only last month that she was accused of using the type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic to lose weight by singer Barbra Streisand.

Commenting on a picture of the actress on social media, the 82-year-old performer asked, "did you take Ozempic?". She's since deleted the post, referencing Melissa's recent weight loss. Shortly after penning the backhanded compliment, the A Star is Born actress issued a grovelling public apology, explaining that she had been trying to pay her friend a compliment, before adding: "I forgot the world is reading!"

Melissa, who has reportedly lost a total of 75 pounds, hasn't seemed to let the quip get to her, uploading a clip about the ordeal last month. She held a magazine with Barbra on the front and looking up to the camera, she joked: "The takeaway. Barbra Streisand knows I exist. She reached out to me and she thought I look good. I win the day."

In the caption of the hilarious clip, Melissa shared words of love for Barbra, writing: "@barbrastreisand fan club members only!!!", followed by a row of red heart emojis. Fans have been quick to applaud Melissa's response, with one writing: "Exactly - this how a goddess responds to an icon. All love and fabulousness." Another added: "A class act."

Ozempic was introduced in 2018 in America and Canada to treat diabetes and obesity. Celebrities such as Rebel Wilson and Sharon Osbourne have admitted to using the drug to help them shed their extra pounds.
