Poulter appeared to take issue with something the fan allegedly said off camera.

In a clip circulating on social media, he can be seen angrily asking: "Why don't you f*** off?"

He then appears to continue: "You were f***ing piping up on the 18th tee, so f*** off."

The fan responds: "Just relax."

And this does not go down with Poulter.

The Majesticks team captain continues: "I suggest you shut the f*** up."

As Poulter rides away on the back of a buggy, he concludes his rant by warning: "Next time he's out."

His trip to Houston had already got off to a bad start, when his luggage did not arrive with him.

In a video posted by the Majesticks' social media accounts, Poulter could be seen asking the likes of Henrik Stenson and Lee Westwood where their bags had got to, with the miffed stars also affected.

Carlos Ortiz went on to win the event in Texas, his first triumph in the Saudi-backed competition.

Following his victory the Mexican, 33, said: "I love playing here.

"Obviously, Texas treats me well. It's my adopted home state. I'm just happy to get it done again in Houston."
