William Saliba says the entire Arsenal team will become Tottenham fans on Tuesday night.

Arsenal need bitter rivals Tottenham to do them a huge favour and get a result against Manchester City to put the Gunners in pole position to win the title. Saliba admits they are all now praying for a miracle and hoping that Pep Guardiola’s side slip up in one of the most exciting title races in Premier League history.

‌Tottenham could yet need a result for their own chances of making the Champions League even if the vast majority of their supporters are promising to become City fans for the night. If City do drop points it would give Arsenal the edge going into the final day of the season when the Gunners face Everton and the reigning champions entertain West Ham.

Gunners defender Saliba said: “I think all the team will be Tottenham fans on Tuesday. Let’s pray for Tuesday. I hope it will be a good week for us and we will see. We did our job at Manchester United. We have another job next week and let’s see what happens.”

Arsenal’s win at Old Trafford has now set up Tuesday as a huge game for City but, despite Tottenham fans insisting they would rather lose, Saliba insists a player’s mentality will be different. Saliba said: “I don’t think so - because they want to play in the Champions League next season.

“I think they will try to win. I know their fans don’t want them to win against City, but they are good competitors so I think they will try their best to win against City.”

‌Arsenal won at United for only the second time in 17 Premier League visits to at least push the title race to the final day. It was nerve-wracking but Arsenal got another clean sheet and Saliba says the result was all that matters.

Saliba added: “We are happy because it wasn’t easy to come and to take the points. It was a long time that we hadn’t come here and taken the three points. Of course, we weren’t so good, we suffer a lot. But in the end, we took the three points and let’s move to next week.

“We knew it was a while that we didn’t win here. We weren’t good, but we took the three points. When we are not at our best, we have to stay compact and suffer until the end. We did well.”
