Shocking footage has emerged showing the lifeless body of a young boy being retrieved from a crocodile-infested riverbank after his mother allegedly threw him in.
The tragic incident involves a six-year-old named Vinod, who lived with his family in Dandel, Karnataka, India. His parents, Savitri and Ravi Kumar, frequently quarrelled over their son's speech disability.
Ravi reportedly blamed Savitri for their child's condition and had chillingly suggested that she should "throw the child away". On the fateful night of Saturday, May 4, it is claimed that Savitri did the unthinkable and cast Vinod into a waste canal leading to the deadly Kali River.

Official's tried to rescue the boy on the night he was thrown into the river but it was too dark (youtube/@SahilOnline TV news)Despite the efforts of local authorities to find him during the night, Vinod's body was only recovered the next morning. A video posted by SahilOnline captures the grim recovery, showing rescuers wading into the river, secured by ropes, before hauling the boy's remains onto the muddy bank, with the footage blurring out the more graphic details.
Reports indicate that the boy's hand was missing, and his body bore multiple bite marks and injuries, suggesting a horrific crocodile attack may have played a part in his death. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of Vinod's demise.

The parents, who shared a rented home with their children, were taken into custody and are said to be under a 14-day judicial remand as the investigation continues.

Following an intense dispute on the night of the tragedy, a distressed Savitri is said to have taken her son and thrown him into the canal. Yet, she seems to point the finger at Ravi for her actions, telling journalists: "My husband is responsible. He kept saying let [Vinod] die."
She continued: "If my husband keeps repeating such things, how much torture could my son endure? But he kept repeatedly telling me to let the child die."
