PLAYSTATION is encountering an error where people aren’t earning the store credit they deserve.
The loyalty scheme, PlayStation Stars, has been offline for over a week, and fans have been looking for ways to get their money back.
PlayStation Stars users can claim their money backCredit: Ivan Mercado via UnsplashPlayStation Stars works by giving you coins for some PS Store purchases as a type of cash back on your PlayStation games.
You can also earn Stars rewards by completing challenges, such as playing games and earning trophies.
However, last week players began to notice that coins were not being added to their accounts, and that PlayStation Stars was not working.
How to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetimePlayStation has now stated that players will receive the coins they earn while PlayStation Stars is offline.
The company has not made it clear how the refund will happen, though it will not be enacted until PlayStation Stars is restored.
Due to the level of uncertainty about the refunds, players have been taking precautions to make sure that they receive their coins.
People have been taking screenshots of their purchases and trophies hoping they can file the evidence if their coins don’t get added to their accounts.
Others have been asking PlayStation for additional compensation for the Stars outage, much like when the PlayStation Network was down for weeks in 2011, due to a hack.
PlayStation has not mentioned any form of additional compensation but does assert that players will receive what they are owed.
There is no current timeline for when PlayStation Stars will be restored, but players’ backdated coins should be restored on this date.
