PS5 players will soon be able to use a long-overdue feature completely free as it rolls out to all consoles in the coming weeks.
The free upgrade adds more ways to connect with players directly from the console for a much seamless experience.

Sony first introduced Discord integration into PS5 last year, but the implementation has been inconvenient, and many players wanted an easier way to chat.
Right now, Discord chat requires players to join voice channels on their phones first and then manually transfer the call to the PS5.
Chespin is the target of 2023’s first community day in Pokémon GoThe upcoming free upgrade, which Sony will be releasing gradually over the coming weeks, will let PS5 owners to join chats directly from the console.
PlayStation players in Japan and other Asian countries are getting the upgrade first.
They will be followed soon by European, Australian and finally American gamers.
To get the new feature, you will need to update your PS5 when prompted, and you’ll be asked to link your Discord and PSN accounts, if you haven’t done so already.
Joining both voice channels on Discord servers and DM group chats will be very easy after the update.
A new Discord tab will be added to the Game Base tab in PS5’s Control Center, where you usually find your PSN friends.
The new section will list all Discord servers you are member of, with all voice channels available to join, as well as direct voice chats with your friends and DM groups.
