Ange Postecoglou has been told to expect a rough ride from Tottenham fans if his side even takes the lead against Manchester City.

Debate is raging ahead of the Premier League showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where a City victory will keep the title destiny in their own hands. Anything less and it will be advantage Arsenal ahead of Sunday's final round of games.

The prospect of Spurs - who need to win to keep their faint hopes of securing Champions League football alive - doing their biggest rivals a huge favour is unthinkable for many fans, who have vowed to support City for the night. One of them is former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who discussed the dilemma with Ally McCoist on talkSPORT on Tuesday.

"You're telling me the Spurs fans are going to turn on Ange if they win tonight?" asked McCoist. O'Hara replied: "Big Ange is getting it if we go 1-0 up tonight, he's getting it. Ange, sort yourself out pal, this isn't Celtic vs Rangers. This is Tottenham-Arsenal.

"I'm not going on [talkSPORT show] the Sports Bar for the next three months having to deal with Arsenal fans piping up every five minutes saying how they've won the league and we handed them the title."

‌Even if Spurs do beat Pep Guardiola's side, they would still be two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and would require a big favour from the Villans' final-day opponents, Crystal Palace.

O'Hara has accepted missing out on the Champions League and added: "Because you know what will happen, we'll win tonight and then Aston Villa, they'll go and beat Crystal Palace and we'll finish fifth anyway. Just sums Spurs up. We've had the Champions League, I can suffer another season. All banter aside, I don't think the team's ready for the Champions League.

"Look at Newcastle and Manchester United this season, they absolutely flopped and finished bottom, and they were out of Europe completely. I’m quite happy to play Paco Rabanne and Ferrero Roche in the Europa League and maybe win a trophy."

Needless to say, Postecoglou will be going all out for victory on Tuesday. Speaking ahead of the game, the defiant Aussie said: "My role is to bring success to this football club and whatever proportion, whether it's his two mates or 99 per cent of people you know.

"I know 100 per cent of Spurs supporters want us to win, be successful and win trophies. That is without a shadow of a doubt and us winning [again City] will help us bring joy to 100 per cent of Spurs supporters."
