Brighton vs Chelsea

Our #PickYourPunt selections: Brighton to win, Denny Welbeck to score and Conor Gallagher booked at 12/1.

Here's why we've made those selections..

  • Brighton to win: The narrative is that Chelsea are finishing the season with a flourish and that Brighton are on the beach. But I'm not entirely convinced that's accurate. The Seagulls arrive having beaten Champions League-chasing Aston Villa and secured a solid point from their trip to Newcastle. Brighton have won three of their last five at the Amex, losing only to Arsenal and Manchester City. The Blues, meanwhile, have won ONE of their last seven on the road and just about squeezed past a struggling Nottingham Forest last weekend.
  • Danny Welbeck to score: It's not been the most prolific of campaigns for Danny Welbeck, who's struck six goals in 35 appearances. He has, however, scored twice in his last three league games against Chelsea and only Joao Pedro has had more big chances for Brighton this season.
  • Conor Gallagher booked: The robust Chelsea midfielder has committed nearly double the number of fouls than any of his colleagues (80). He's picked up seven cautions this season and has been booked three times in eight appearances against Brighton.
