Donny Osmond has enjoyed a fairytale marriage to his childhood sweetheart Debbie for almost half a century.
The lovebirds tied the knot back in 1978 after three years of dating, and the pop icon recently shared a touching update on his relationship with his wife. Taking to Instagram, Donny, 66, posted a snap of himself and Debbie as he revealed he was away from her while on tour. The former Osmonds singer has only good words to say about his relationship with Debbie, and over the years, he’s heaped praise on his wife and her role in their huge family.
Donny and Debbie wed in 1978, and share five children together - Donny Jr., Jeremy, Brandon, Chris and Josh. They’re now the proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren, and Donny sweetly credited his wife for keeping his “feet on the ground”. While Debbie prefers to stay out of the spotlight, Donny said she had given him “stability”, and once called her “the absolute love of my life.”

Back in 2020, he shared a gushing post about Debbie, as he told his devoted followers that his wife was “the glue that holds us all together”. Donny wrote on Instagram: “She's not only the love of my life, but she's also my best friend and greatest confidant… Through the years, Debbie has often had to manage on her own while I've toured and performed on the road. That's a very heavy burden to bear, and I'm deeply grateful for a wife who is my teammate in every sense of the word.”
Jermain Defoe sparks marriage split fear after spending Christmas away from wifeDuring a candid interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Donny revealed Debbie helped him out of a dark place, as he struggled to relaunch his career. “I was in such a desperate place that Debbie pulled me out of it. Whenever I make a decision in my life, the first thing I think about is her. How does it affect her? And the second thing I think about is how does it affect my children? The third, now, is how does it affect my grandchildren. And then I’m fourth. If all four of those are a green light, then I’ll do it. I think that is what’s really helped this 43-year marriage is that she comes first. But I love what I do.”
But their relationship hasn’t always been plain sailing. Donny revealed Debbie was initially dating his older brother Jay, and he spent three years trying to woo her away from his sibling. And in 2007, the Puppy Love hitmaker confessed he had faced “temptations” during his career. “Of course I do [have vices]. My wife would say I'm a workaholic. But I'm a good Mormon boy, let's put in that way. I don't smoke or drink, and I didn't have sex before I got married to Debbie,” he told London Paper. “There were temptations when I was young - I was tempted all the time - but I'm glad I didn't sleep around. I'm very lucky I found a great woman first time.”
