Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher agreed that Son Heung-min's dreadful miss against Manchester City is the moment that lost Arsenal the title.
Son captained Tottenham as they hosted City on Tuesday night, with a win or a draw against Pep Guardiola 's side set to swing the title race to the Gunners. City took the lead six minutes into the second period, but Spurs put the visitors under intense pressure.
They had a huge chance to equalise with five minutes remaining when Brennan Johnson nicked the ball off Manuel Akanji on the halfway line. Akanja was the deepest defender for City, with Johnson's touch sending Son racing through.
But rather than find the back of the net, Son's shot was saved by the legs of City keeper Stefan Ortega. Haaland would go on to net a penalty in injury time to wrap up the three points for City.
And both Neville and Carragher believe Ortega's save from Son was the game's crucial moment. Carragher said in commentary for Sky Sports: "Arsenal fans all over the world are two-footing the television!"

Carragher and Neville jointly awarded Ortega man of the match after he pulled off a string of saves. And the Liverpool legend insisted his save from Son has all but won City this season's title.

"The fact we gave Ortega man of the match, he has basically won them the Premier League title. This wasn't about the goal from Haaland, if he doesn't make those saves at 1-0, Arsenal will win the league, that's how close it is," Carragher told The Gary Neville podcast.
"I think of me a few years ago as a Liverpool fan watching Vincent Kompany put that shot in against Leicester, that Son chance is that moment for Arsenal fans. That chance will haunt them. That is the title right there. That moment, the title's gone from Arsenal to Manchester City."
Neville again agreed with Carragher's assessment and hailed Ortega for getting his leg out to block Son's shot. He added: "The right man is there and I've said it for a few years but you always need your goalkeeper in a title run-in to produce a performance, to make a save.
"I nearly said at one point is he the best number two in the league. He's an outsanding number two. Came on in challenging circumstances. It was an unbelieveable moment when Son went through, it really was.
"Well done to City, you need everyone to contribute. He does save it. Sometimes when you see someone go through on goal it just hits the keeper. But how he gets his leg down and almost splits. An unbelieveable save."
