Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has revealed a conversation with West Ham boss David Moyes ahead of their Premier League decider against Manchester City.
Moyes will look to bow out in style when he takes charge of his final game for West Ham on Sunday. However, the 61-year-old manager faces a monumental challenge coming up against league leaders and title favourites City.
With Arsenal's title hopes hanging by a thread, the Gunners need their London rivals to earn a draw or a win at City to have a shot at their first league triumph in two decades. Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, meanwhile, will be facing Everton at home.
TV presenter Morgan will be among the swathes of Arsenal supporters begging Moyes to do the north Londoners a huge favour. He revealed on talkSPORT that he recently ran into Moyes, where the departing Hammers boss expressed his desire to end his tenure with a bang.
Morgan said via Football London: "I randomly bumped into David Moyes the other day. We had a lovely chat and I sense, quite rightly, that he wants to go out with a bang.
Premier League odds and betting tips"What better bang can he possibly go out with than dismantling City in their backyard and letting Arsenal win the league? What better way to say thank you, not just to David Moyes but to Declan Rice, the man who led you to European glory? The man who stood there week after week, holding you up as a team, carrying you on his shoulders.
"What better way than to go to City and win it for Moyesy and win it for Declan? I think all bets are off on Sunday. I hope West Ham attack them and try and nick a goal."
Arsenal's hopes of securing the title were dealt a major blow by their bitter rivals Tottenham on Tuesday night, as Spurs suffered a 2-0 defeat to City. The result propelled Pep Guardiola's side to the top of the table with one game remaining.
Captain Son Heung-min notably squandered a golden opportunity to secure a point for Tottenham, before Erling Haaland's penalty ensured a two-point lead for City.
Despite the loss ending their chances of finishing in the top four, Spurs fans were left delighted - a reaction that manager Ange Postecoglou found problematic. Morgan criticised the Tottenham supporters for even cheering City's goals during the match.
He added: "They should have got a point and that's what disappoints me. If they'd have had the full support of their fans, which is what normal fans in that situation would have done if they were a club who wants to be one of the bigger clubs.
"The atmosphere was dreadful and the players did try hard. If you are one of those players and you've got a manager willing you to do everything you can, then you've got the fans literally silent and only erupting and chanting when City scored. What message does that send to the players."
