Hollyoaks fans were shocked to see Nathalie Emmanuel at the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis.
The actress was spotted alongside her co-stars on the red carpet of the 77th Cannes Film Festival for the decades-long passion project of the infamous director. Nathalie joined Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver and Shia LaBeouf for the screening at Palais des Festivals.
Nathalie has come a long way since starring as Sasha Valentine in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. The actress broke into Hollywood thanks to her stint on Game of Thrones and her career has continued to go from strength to strength.
The former Hollyoaks star wore a while applique gown embellished with rhinestones, which she complimented with star rings and a bow necklace. Nathalie takes on the role of Julia Cicero in Francis Ford Coppola's passion project. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on Nathalie's new role, one fan wrote: "Nathalie Emmanuel’s career trajectory is incredible because no one else in the history of acting has managed to go from starring in Hollyoaks to a Francis Ford Coppola film."
"As someone who saw her in Hollyoaks, it's so weird to see Nathalie Emmanuel rubbing shoulders with the likes of FFC and Talia Shire of The Godfather and John Voight from Heat," another said while a third added: "Just read that Nathalie Emmanuel is in Megalopolis. From Hollyoaks to Francis Ford Coppola, the lady has done well."

She said: “I felt like I had never seen anything like it… it’s epic, artistic and experimental," before adding mysteriously: "It’s kind of in the vein of a lot of Francis’ work, which is not to conform in any way. It’s very much in line with his filmmaking.”
Nathalie's performance has received a lot of praise which the actress admitted was "lovely to hear". She went on to admit that she saw herself as the newcomer on set: “These are people that I’ve been looking up to for years, so it was quite intimidating. These are giants in our profession, the heavyweights. So there was definitely an element of processing that.”
Explaining how she landed the role, Nathalie revealed: "Francis asked me to pick a line from a movie or song lyric or quote or joke, and then asked me to say it in multiple ways, like, ‘Oh, say it like Ophelia,’ or ‘Say it like you’re breaking bad news to somebody,’ or ‘Say it like it’s a secret.'"
She revealed she chose a quote from The Colour Purple, adding: "I guess it was an exercise for him to see how I took direction. There’s obviously a multitude of ways of delivering any line.”
