Hull KR's Mikey Lewis warns Wigan ahead of semi-final repeat: "We are better."

MIKEY Lewis hopes to not have time standing still once again as Wigan are denied a Wembley place – as he and Hull KR are better than last year.

History may repeat itself as Rovers look to stop the Warriors in the Challenge Cup semi-finals once again.

But the Robins’ talisman believes they have what it takes to do so in much less dramatic circumstances than Brad Schneider’s golden point extra time drop goal that got them there in 2023.

He said: “It felt like forever when I was behind Brad!

“All I remember is jumping on top of him, saying, ‘We’re going to Wembley.’ What he did was immense for us and it’ll be a massive memory for the whole club.

“This year, however, it’ll probably count for nothing. We’ve a lot of different players and it’s a different team – we’re better than last year.

“And as a club, a playing group and personally, we’re more experienced. We’re ready to take that next step to winning trophies and that’s what we need.

“It was very disappointing to lose last year’s final to Leigh but we’ll be better for that this time around.

“It’s all about actions now and putting on a performance to get back to Wembley.

"Wigan have a good squad. It’s about how we stop them and their star players from getting on the front foot.

“That’s how far we’ve come as a team and a club. We’re confident and we’ve proved we can do it – there’s no reason why we can’t do it again.”
