When the public look at Kate and William they see many things - the future King and Queen, parents of Princes George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte and, of course, a loving couple.

The pair met at the prestigious St Andrew's University in Edinburgh in their late teens and first started out as flatmates before striking up a romance. But in April 2007 rumours began circulating the two of them were in different places after six years together, with the Princess of Wales ready to commit but Prince William reportedly wanting to make the most of his youth and freedom and they broke up.

Thankfully they later rekindled their storybook romance and went on to marry in front of the world’s cameras before introducing their three children. Here we take a look at some of the couple’s sweetest moments after they celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary last month.

In 2021, the royal couple attended the Wimbledon women's singles final together, where they were pictured looking relaxed as they chatted and laughed in the royal box. Body language expert Judi James said their gestures at the weekend showed the strength of their bond and "raises it to a whole new level".

In one picture, William and Kate can be seen sharing a joke, with According to Judi, this showed Kate showing off some "industrial-strength flirt signals".

Valentine's romance

It appears the future King is an old romantic. Former royal butler Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles between 2004 and 2011, said: “I remember him asking me to help with a candlelit dinner for Kate to celebrate . It was the Valentine's after they got engaged and shortly before their wedding. I was so happy to be involved and I'm sure William picked Kate's favourite dessert as a surprise."

Joking behaviour

One particularly funny moment occurred back in December 2015 when the royal pair were answering phone calls to raise money for the ICAP charity day. They were in high spirits during the event - and William even joked about having to stop his wife flirting on the phone.

The Prince had overheard Kate talking to a caller named Andrew, and he blurted out: "Catherine, I think you can stop flirting with them now," before turning to a broker, raising his eyebrow and muttering: "Sorry, my wife is just embarrassing me."

In 2010 following their engagement announcement, said of his future wife Kate: "Obviously we both have a very fun time together, both have a very good sense of humour about things, we're down to earth, we take the mickey out of each other a lot, and she's got plenty of habits that make me laugh that I tease her about."

Loving support

During her cancer fight, Kate says her beloved husband has been a "great source of comfort and reassurance" during the difficult time. He recently told members of the public during a recent trip to Cornwall how well she is doing.

Loving praise

During the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend in June when William and Kate - still known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - visited Cardiff alongside their two older children Prince George and Princess Charlotte. In a clip shared by user @hellen3030, Kate can be seen meeting and greeting a crowd that turned out to see her as well as her family at Cardiff Castle.

As she shakes hands, one lady tells her that one day she will make a great Princess of Wales. And Kate replies saying: "That's very kind of you. I'm in good hands" as she gestures towards William.
