School teacher Rebecca Joynes was convicted of a string of sex offences after a jury found she had sex with two teenage boys and had a baby with one of them.

The 30-year-old was already suspended from her high school job and on bail for sexual activity with one 15-year-old boy when she took the virginity of a second boy, known as boy B, 16, who she later became pregnant by. Neither teenager can be identified.

The jury found the teacher guilty of six counts of sexual activity with a child, including two while being a person in a position of trust. She will be sentenced on July 4.

Here's 11 key revelations heard inside Manchester Crown Court.

Love letters

The jury heard Joynes wrote a gushing love letter to a teenager, adding he was "everything I ever dream about." During the trial prosecutor Joe Allman continued to read out the letter to the jury.

Joynes reportedly told the 16-year-old, known as boy B: "Every inch of you is perfect. You are all I ever dream about."

The defendant replied: "This was a year after he left school. I was in love with him. I was pregnant with his child."

Joynes fell pregnant with boy's baby

The teacher admitted to the jury that she became pregnant after she had sex with boy B. She does deny having sex with him while he was at high school and before she was dismissed from her teaching role.

Boy B argued that they had sex while he was still a schoolboy. He also claimed Joynes straddled and kissed him.

They later rowed over what should be done with the unborn baby. Jurors heard Joynes reportedly told the teenager she would "harm herself or kill herself if he ended the relationship, or that "if he did he would become responsible" should she lose the baby.

Snapchat messages

Joynes has admitted chatting with 15-year-old boy A after she gave him nine digits of her number and he guessed the other two. Boy B also sent her Snapchat messages.

In both cases, the activity was a secret from their parents and they both flirted with her, boy A, calling her "sexy" and boy B, sending her a message saying, "Get your **** out."

When asked about whether she should have talked to the boys on Snapchat, Joynes replied: “Absolutely not, as a professional teacher I should have never engaged in that. I have to take accountability for that.”

Joynes bought boy Gucci belt worth hundreds

Manchester Crown Court heard Joynes groomed Boy A by buying him a £345 Gucci designer belt. She then took him to her flat in Salford, Greater Manchester, where they allegedly had sex twice.

Police later seized CCTV from the Trafford Centre showing Joynes and the boy who she allegedly bought the belt for. Prosecutors said this constituted "grooming."

Joynes allegedly planned a "date night" with Boy B that involved a scratchcard of sexual activities, rose petals and hidden notes around the flat. At the end of the trail, Joynes produced a baby grow for their child.

Boy B said: "At the end it was a baby grow. It said something like, 'Best Dad' and I was like, 'What the f***.' She started crying and I started crying, because we were undecided whether to get rid of it or not.

"That was probably the lowest point, we were irresponsible. It's my own fault. I also thought, 'what the f*** am I going to do?' I can't hide a kid. I had hid the relationship for 18 months from my parents."

Joynes' baby taken away within 24 hours

The dismissed teacher sobbed as she told the jury that her baby was taken away from her. Manchester Crown Court heard she gave birth to a baby girl in January.

She added: "24 hours after she had been born. At the moment I have contact with her three times a week for three hours and that’s it.”

Joynes wears baby bonnet to court

Joynes arrived at court with a pink baby's bonnet tucked into her trousers. While giving evidence, she explained why she chose to bring the item of clothing with her.

Prosecutor Allman asked Joynes if she brought the visible bonnet in a bid to get sympathy from the jury. She added: "No. Definitely not," Joynes said. "I sleep with this every night." Joynes has been seen wearing the bonnet on multiple occasions outside Manchester Crown Court.

Joyne's six words she allegedly told pupil "before undressing"

The court heard Joynes made a comment after picking up Boy A in her car before they headed to her flat where they allegedly engaged in sexual activity. The boy told her "I'm not old enough to drive" to which Joynes allegedly laughingly replied: "Oh, shut up. Stop saying that."

At the flat, the pair allegedly sat on the edge of her bed and started to kiss. Boy A continued: "She took her jacket off and took her stuff off. As she was getting undressed she said, 'No one had better find out'."

The boy said they had oral sex, adding: "She said, 'how do you want to do it then?"', before Joynes got on all fours on the bed, the court heard. Boy A continued: "Then after that I was like, turn over, and she turned over on her back on the bed. At the time I literally thought to myself this is weird."

Joynes was 'lonely' and 'craved attention'

Joynes told the court she felt lonely and "liked" the attention she was given by the two teen boys. She claimed to have struggled during Covid restrictions and the breakdown of a nine-year relationship.

Jurors heard she sent a sexually provocative image to Boy A. The photo was of her bottom wearing just a thong.

She allegedly had sex with Boy B around 30 times before her arrest. He reportedly viewed the relationship as being "friends with benefits."

Mum spotted 'love bite' on son

A few days after Boy A went to the Trafford Centre with Joynes, his mum noticed a "red/purple mark" on his neck that looked like a "love bite."

She said in a statement: "I said: 'What's that mark on your neck' and he said: 'Oh nothing, I don't know'." The mum said she later got a call from the deputy head teacher at the school about allegations involving her son and Ms Joynes.

She went to the school and spoke to her son who said it was "just a stupid conversation on group chats that got out of hand." Her statement continued: "I said: 'I can't believe you said this, you could have cost this girl her career now'."

Joynes said she ruined 'dream job'

The dismissed teacher told the jury she ruined her "dream job" with "stupid mistakes." Under cross examination, Joynes said: “Speaking to my family, I had made mistakes. I had basically ruined my chances with my dream job.”

She later added: "I was stupid but I did choose that option, obviously I was breaking my bail conditions.” The defendant maintained the relationship only became sexual after she was no longer a teacher but that soured and she claimed boy B became 'controlling'.
