Declan Donnelly is said to be taking his new role as Ant McPartlin's son's godfather 'very seriously' already.
The TV duo are believed to already be planning playdates for their children after Ant welcoming his first child earlier this week. He introduced his son to the world with an adorable black and white snap of him cradling the newborn. Ant, 48, shares his new bundle of joy with wife Anne-Marie and the couple released a joint statement.
They said: "Welcome to the family Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!" It was later revealed Ant apparently made a very touching gesture to his co-star Dec as he made him his son's godfather.
Ant is already godfather to Dec's two children Isla and Jack, who he shares with wife Ali Astall. Dec even went a step further after welcoming his own son as his name - Jack Anthony Alphonsus - is a nod to his best friend. The presenter married his and Ant’s talent manager Ali in 2015 after the pair reportedly starting dating in 2013.

Ant and Dec, who are best friends and have worked with each other for years, have already been sharing parenting advice. “Dec is obviously so excited for Ant and has already been giving him advice - mainly how to deal with sleepless nights,” a source told OK! Magazine. “He can’t wait to take on the role of godfather and he’s promised to take his duties very seriously.”

They claimed Ant had always wanted to make Dec a godfather to his children one day. Dec's children Isla and Jack are said to be thrilled to have a new playmate in the gang. Ant and Dec are also planning joint summer holidays to their neighbouring holiday homes in Portugal, according to reports.
“Wilder will practically be like a nephew to Dec, and he and Ant are excited for their boys to grow up together as there’s less than two years between Wilder and Dec’s son Jack - they want them to become as close as they are,” the source added. The Mirror has contacted Ant and Dec's representatives for comment.
