A family feud has been ignited over two clashing funerals, with one being dramatically interrupted.
The tale, shared on Reddit's anonymous "Am I the A-Hole" forum, comes from a grandchild who organised a joint service for their grandma and grandad. The grandchild was then shocked to discover another funeral arranged by their mum, which led to a commotion at the church.
"My grandparents passed away recently. I followed the guidelines my grandma set up for her final event. Her Church, her burial plot, her casket and the same for my grandpa. I just didn't expect for it to be a joint funeral. I had a great time with my grandparent's friends, and then I went back home and cried my heart out," writes the Redditor.

Catholics across the world pray for Pope Benedict XVI as his body lies in state"I had been their sole caregiver and I didn't know what to do without them," they continued, adding that they looked after the pair for 15 years, a responsibility which "escalated" before their death.
While browsing their grandfather's Facebook page after the initial funeral, OP stumbled upon a group buzzing with activity about another service—this one being organized by their mother at her church. According to OP, their mother was seeking assistance in "trying to get final expenses taken care of" for the funeral.
"I was gobsmacked. This was the woman I hadn't spoken to since I kicked her out for nicking jewellery and causing immense distress to grandma by exploiting her Alzheimer's," OP shared.

"I attended the funeral my mum had planned and listened to the pastor and then my mum got up to speak. She told everyone how tough it was looking after them and something inside me ignited. I don't recall everything I said, but it did include that she didn't foot the bill for anything for them, not their caskets, not their burial plots, not their cremation, nothing. I informed everyone I laid them to rest at the funeral grandma organised herself 4 days prior."
After explaining to the audience about how the mother never even visited her parents for four years. Continuing to rail against the mum and her actions, the OP was asked to leave, which they gladly did.
But the saga didn't stop there. Later, a cousin reached out to to the OP to ask her several questions about the family. The cousin said that the OP's mum "had been taking funds from the family for years to pay for their care at a facility because they had outlived their insurance policy.
"They also explained I got a lot of people in trouble because somewhere in the speech I shouted I had done it all alone for years without any help. A lot of family members used my grandparents as an excuse to get out of work and had invited their coworkers to the funeral," says OP.
The post sparked a flurry of activity, amassing over 500 comments and 6K votes. The Reddit community ultimately stamped it with a "Not the A-hole" verdict. The overwhelming majority commended the Original Poster (OP) for their dedication to their grandparents and for boldly unveiling the "truth" about their mother.

Pele family feud finally fixed days before death as grandkids allowed to see himOne commenter expressed support, saying, "NTA. I'm honestly not entirely sure how you could have handled that better without being ignored. Your family members created these situations for themselves and now must deal with the consequences," and advised the OP to "Be kinder to yourself, you're grieving and will need some time to heal.
Another chimed in, "You told the truth. The truth exposed your mother's hypocrisy and how she was scamming the family for money. It also exposed the scams of those who were pretending to care. The term for this is 'poetic justice,' and it was overdue." Another comment read: "There's an old saying my gran used to use: Sunshine is the best disinfectant."
"All you did was shine so brightly that the truth came out. It's not your fault that the rest of your family turned out to be filthy liars when your light turned up."
