Zayn Malik revealed he sings to his daughter at bedtime as he shared a sweet detail of the special bond with the three-year-old.

The former One Direction singer, 31, shares Khai with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, and he gave fans an insight into his relationship with his daughter as it was announced he would be the latest A-list star to read the CBeebies Bedtime Story. Joining the likes of Elton John, Chris Evans and Dave Grohl, the Pillow Talk hitmaker is set to make his debut in the bedtime Story chair on Wednesday, and admitted he had signed up thanks to his daughter.

Zayn will read Music is in Everything by Ziggy Marley, and the book - which encourages children to use anything as an instrument to create beautiful music - was picked by the singer in honour of Khai. “I chose this book because I love Bob Marley, and because music and reading are both important to me as a parent. I sing to my daughter at night-time when she goes to sleep and I read to her at bedtime too. I feel like this will be something really cool to show her, so I’m up for reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story!” he explained.

The former One Direction star welcomed Khai with supermodel Gigi in September 2020, and the couple kept Gigi’s pregnancy a secret for months. Sadly, less than a year after Khai arrived, Zayn and Gigi called it quits in 2021, following an altercation with the model’s mother Yolanda. He has retreated from the spotlight in recent years, and in a rare interview on The Zach Sang Show, he admitted Khai had brought “colour” back into his life. “I feel like my daughter brought that colour back in my life. She just makes me happy. I have so much love in me that I didn't have before she was born,” he sweetly shared.

“She laughs all day. She wants to do the silliest things and she gains so much excitement from it. She just has a whole fresh perspective on life that had some- what become grey for me,” Zayn sadly added. However, he revealed parenthood has given him a new perspective, and raising his daughter has helped him to become wiser and more responsible. “She’s a force of nature. She’s given me maturity. She’s forced my sensibility to become this mature father for her, this good responsible role model that takes accountability for their actions and sticks to their work and proves that my word is bond,” he added.
