Eamonn Holmes paid no mind to the negativity as he broke his silence by responding to some fans after he uploaded a snap of him hanging out with his close pal Linda Lusardi.
Last week, the presenter took to his social media to share a then-and-now photo of him beaming with joy as he posed with his showbiz pal. "1982 v 2024 and she hasn’t changed a bit. My wonderful, close friend Linda Lusardi who I went to see today. 42-year friendship," he proudly wrote in the caption.
Fans started speculating about his marriage to Ruth Langsford as they rushed to the comment section to question where his wife was. It was clear Eamonn read through some of the comments but only opted to reply to the positive ones from fans, with him responding with praying hands emojis when someone wrote: "You're both still looking fabulous!"
One user commented: "One of you hasn’t aged a bit," to which Eamonn replied with a "thank you". Another person added: "You haven't changed either Eamonn." The GB News presenter jokingly said: "If only," with a few laughing face emojis. Many fans bombarded him with questions about his wife's whereabouts.
"Where is your beautiful wife Ruth? Why or what are you trying to prove!" one concerned user asked while another curious fan commented: "Where was poor Ruth." But another fan rushed to his defence, saying: "'Trying to prove' or simply sharing a picture of a long-term friendship that's lasted all these years .. how do you know it wasn't Ruth taking the picture.." Eamonn Holmes gives major health update as he reveals TV return dateOne supporter hit back: "Why see the negative in this? They have been friends for 42 years! Amazing achievement!!" Another defended Eamonn, saying: "He's showing what a good friendship they have! Why do some idiots always have to be negative, derogatory, accusatory and insinuate things? For nothing better to do? Obviously not." [sic]
In recent weeks, fans have been concerned that Eamonn and Ruth have not been spotted together. A conspiracy was hatched among fans when Eamonn shared a family photo last month, with many noting that Ruth was not involved in the wholesome snap.
The GB News host shared a photo of his eldest son - who he shares with ex-wife Gabriele, whom he split from in 1994 - and his wife and children as they celebrated a christening. A few days later, however, Eamonn shared a throwback snap of himself and his wife looking happy together. The snap itself was from May 2018 and showed the husband and wife smiling together.
