The missing persons case involving Teen Mom star Amber Portwood's fiance, Gary Wayt, has been officially closed after he confirmed to police that he is safe and well.
North Carolina's Bryson City Police Department said that the 39-year-old contacted them from a restricted phone number on Friday afternoon, informing them of his safety and requesting they halt the search. To verify it was indeed Gary and not an imposter, the police asked him very specific questions, according to TMZ.
After providing convincing responses and confirming with absolute certainty that he was fine, the police agreed to close the case.

It remains unconfirmed whether he has been in touch with his fiancee Amber.
On Friday, police confirmed receiving a report that Gary had been spotted in New Mexico, nearly 900 miles away from where he initially went missing in North Carolina. Prior to this, Amber's soon-to-be husband was also seen inside a Verizon store in Oklahoma, showing "no signs of distress."
Amber launched a week-long investigation after Gary suddenly vanished from their North Carolina hotel, taking only his wallet and keys but leaving his phone behind. This comes on the heels of Gary's recent proposal to Amber and his introduction on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter just a few weeks ago.
Mysteriously, Wayt disappeared just 72 hours after making his debut on the reality show.
Throughout the investigation, police have kept in touch with Amber, who has voiced her concerns about Wayt's whereabouts on social media to her fans. During a YouTube live session, the Teen Mom star discussed Wayt's disappearance, insisting that "there was no explosive argument" prior to his departure.
She also emphasised their healthy relationship, stating: "We are very in love. This man asked me to be with him. This man asked me to marry him. I have not touched this man in any horrible way. He does not touch me in any horrible way. We do not yell at each other."
