Bryson DeChambeau's rapid rise through the Official World Gold Ranking (OWGR) continued on Monday, after he broke back into the top 10 in the world for the first time in two years following his U.S. Open win.

DeChambeau landed the second U.S. Open title of his career on Sunday, clinching the victory at Pinehurst No. 2 following an epic battle with Rory McIlroy. The LIV Golf star entered the final round in North Carolina with a three-shot lead but found himself with work to do going down the stretch.

Stood on the 13th tee, McIlroy had overturned the deficit and moved two shots clear of DeChambeau with five holes to play. Three bogeys however followed for the Northern Irishman, which included two brutal short misses on the green.

DeChambeau meanwhile took full advantage, making a remarkable up-and-down for par from the sand on the 18th to clinch the championship by one shot. The victory carried on the Crushers captain's impressive form in the major stage in 2024, having finished tied-sixth at the Masters and runner-up at the PGA Championship.

The current campaign has seen DeChambeau bounce back into life, having previously failed to consistently find his best form since making the move to LIV in 2022. In that time, the American has seen his name drift down the world rankings, with the breakaway league yet to acquire OWGR accreditation.

In 2023, DeChambeau fell as low as 214th in the world list, having previously sat fourth during his time with the PGA Tour. Heading into this year's Masters just two months ago, the LIV star found himself 210th in the world, but has made a remarkable rise thanks to his major form.

Following the changes to the rankings on Monday morning, DeChambeau saw himself move to 10th, becoming the second LIV star in the top-10 alongside Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm. The American has been somewhat of a divisive figure during his professional playing career, but has seen himself become a fan favourite in recent months.

This was apparent in North Carolina, with the home American crowd backing DeChambeau throughout the week. Paying tribute to them in his victory speech on the 18th green, he said: "What it means. I haven't really let it sunk in yet. "Tonight I want all of you guys somehow, I want you guys to touch this trophy because I want you to experience what this feels like for me.

"You were a part of this journey this week, and I want you to be a part of it for the after party." And impressively the Crushers captain was a man of his word." And DeChambeau is a man of his word, parading his trophy through the crowd as the sun set on the North Carolina course on Sunday evening.
