Armie Hammer says career-ending cannibalism allegations were 'a blessing'

Armie Hammer has described the cannibalism claims against him as a surprising silver lining amidst his career turmoil.

The Hollywood star faced a barrage of shocking allegations, including a bizarre interest in cannibalism, which he admits led to "an ego death, a career death."

The scandal turned his life on its head, but Armie has since come to terms with the "neutron bomb" that exploded his former world.

Speaking candidly on the Painful Lessons podcast, Armie revealed: "I'm actually now at a place where I'm really grateful for it because where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me I didn't feel good I never felt satisfied I never had enough I never was in a place where I was happy with myself where I had self-esteem. I never knew how to give myself love. I never knew how to give myself self-validation but I had this job where I was able to get it from so many people that I never had to learn how to give it to myself."

Hammer's cannibalistic fantasies came to light following allegations of abuse by his ex-girlfriend, Effie Angelova. In February 2021, she accused him of "violently" raping and physically abusing her.

Hammer has consistently denied these accusations, maintaining that any sexual activities were "completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance and mutually participatory."

Following her story, other women came out with similar accusations against Armie, alleging he had extreme fetishes, including cannibalism.

Speaking on the Painful Lesson's podcast, he emphatically refuted these claims, stating: "People called me a cannibal. Like I ate people! What? ? ? ? You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to eat people! ".

The scandal led to his split from his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, in 2020, which pushed Armie to the brink of suicide. He revealed: "There were a lot of times when I thought I can't take this anymore. I was getting hate...so it just went right in... there was a time. I was standing at the shore and I swam out really far and just laying there..a half-a---- suicide attempt...But I thought I couldn't do that to my kids," sharing the turmoil he faced amidst the controversy.
