Paloma Faith said 'a lot of women are burning out' as they are juggling parenting and full-time jobs while delegating parenting tasks to her partner.

The singer, 42, split up from husband Leyman Lahcine after a decade in 2022 and shares a seven-year-old daughter and three-year-old daughter with him. She has been struggling to balance co-parenting with him all while working on her very successful music career.

During a recent interview, Paloma said women 'can't have it all' as men fail to 'use their initiative' when it comes to parenting. "I don't believe we can have it all," she recently said. The star went on to admit she has been feeling 'a bit disgruntled about society's expectation on women'.

Paloma explained that women were told that they could 'work and have your own money and independence while raising children' but have instead ended up dealing with 'far too much responsibility'. The songstress continued: "I think a lot of women are burning out."

Speaking to the Radio Times, she added: "Parenting is a full-time job. If you're also CEO of your own business like I am, then I'm meant to delegate to my partner, but that's a full-time job because they've not got any initiative. Paloma added that it is tiring as you have to 'sacrifice something' all the time.

Earlier this year, Paloma opened up about her split from Leyman. They married in 2017 but five years later, Paloma confirmed they'd parted ways. During that time, she described the year as being 's**t' and called herself a 'broken woman'. On Jamie Laing's podcast, Great Company, the mum-of-two shared how her album, The Glorification of Sadness, addressed her 'trauma' and ongoing heartache.

Paloma said having two children together is what makes this a "different type of heartbreak album". She explained: "Because the heartbreak will be forever and the navigation of our relationship changing shape will be forever, probably till we die. You can't really let go of somebody you've got kids with."

The star added: "Because you look at your kids and you see that person in your kids. Or they come back from visiting them - your partner/ex-partner - and they're doing their mannerisms or they've got opinions that you don't agree with. It's even harder, I think in a way, because we really liked each other a lot.

"We're really close and we still love each other, and that makes it confusing. That's really sad. So it's sort of heartbreaking every time we see each other. It's just very raw because of the kids."
