Love Island's Harriet Blackmore has got people talking on social media, but not for the reasons she might expect.

If you've been watching this year's Love Island, you'll no doubt have seen 24-year-old Harriet get herself involved in all sorts of drama so far. Just two weeks in and the self-confessed "it girl" from Brighton has already been caught up in two separate love triangles – one with Nicole Samuel as they both competed to win over Ciaran Davies, and more recently with Jess White as they vyed for the attention of Ronnie Vint.

But it's not Harriet's fiery personality or her turbulent time in the villa that's got people "screaming at the telly". Instead, people online are fuming at the dancer because of the way she incorrectly pronounces certain words.

Love Island fans have noticed that whenever Harriet wants to say "genuinely", she appears to say "generally" instead – and it's left them fuming. One woman on TikTok racked up 450,000 views with a video addressing the blunder, as she pointed out: "Why is no one talking about the fact that whenever Harriet means to say 'genuinely' she says 'generally'."

Commenters on the video – shared by @bel.pikeyy – were also quick to express their frustration at the slip-up. Some noted that "so many people" make the same mistake, but many others said it makes them want to "scream".

When one person said they "thought no one else realised" what Harriet was saying, Bel responded: "I scream at the telly every time it comes out of her mouth, honestly."

Another commenter said: "I can't stand it!" While someone else also posted: "Thank you for confirming! Drives me insane." A fourth person shared: "I haven't seen it anywhere and me and my mum actually get fuming about it."

While Harriet is getting the brunt of the criticism for her word mix-up because she's on our TV screens every night, she's not the only person who gets the two words confused. In fact, a woman named Emily made an entirely separate video about the subject months before Love Island began this year.

In her video, posted to her @emilyxpearl account, she raged: "I can't tell you the seething anger that it brings to my f***ing body when I hear a person say the word 'generally' instead of 'genuinely'."

Even though Emily's video was posted back in April, people have still found it recently and left comments linking it back to Harriet. One person wrote: "Harriet on Love Island," prompting someone else to respond: "I'm so glad someone said it, it's angering me so much every night."
