A Love Island star has revealed she has finally found love outside the villa after being booted off the show.
Fans will remember Mal Nicol as a bombshell from last year’s summer series famous for her ‘sexy’ cat dance and being coupled up with Sammy Root – until she was axed following a shock vote from the public , which saw one person from the bottom two sent packing.
This meant Sammy lost Mal and Whitney had to wave Mehdi off in the 2023 series of the ITV2 dating show. At the time, Mal described her connection with Sammi as “innocent, pure and lovely” and said she genuinely liked him. But he went on to win the show with his now ex Jess Harding after Mal’s departure.
Would it have gone anywhere with Sammy if she stayed? Love Island fans will never know. But 26-year-old Scot Mal – who is now a comedian and regularly posts funny videos on social media – looks to have found love with a new man. Going Instagram official with her new beau, Mal posted a clip of him smothering her with kisses as they travelled on a train. She told fans: “The theory of meeting twice is the reason why we are together. He literally moved to Dubai!!!”

One fan asked: “Why do I swear I know who he is?” Another said: “That Joey Essex,” to which Mal cheekily replied: “He’s in the villa.” A third follower wrote: “Awww love this for you.” A fourth commented: “Everything happens for a reason.” “So glad you found someone,” a fifth added.
Though this mystery man has been making regular appearances in Mal’s funny videos since March, she has stopped short of revealing his name or tagging him in any of her social media posts. But the pair looked to be in the honeymoon phase and can’t seem to stop kissing.
Meanwhile, the real Joey Essex has come under fire for his antics in the current series of Love Island – with fans even calling for the former TOWIE star to be axed from the show. First he was coupled up with Liverpool lass Samantha Kenny and immediately kissed her on his debut in the villa. But since the 33-year-old’s ex Grace Jackson entered as a bombshell on Friday, they haven’t been able to keep their hands off each.
Their moves were apparently so X-rated when Grace picked to take Joey to Casa Amor for the night that Love Island bosses didn’t show some of the scenes. And such is their connection that some fans don’t believe Grace and Joey ever really split up – and they planned this all along.
