Arsenal will kick off their Premier League campaign at home to Wolves on August 17 but a number-crunching supercomputer has already decided Mikel Arteta's team face a brutal run-in that could scupper their title hopes.

And even Arteta's future in north London is being speculated over with growing suggestions that he is being eyed as Pep Guardiola's replacement at Manchester City next summer.

Elsewhere, a former academy star has been jailed for more than two years after being found guilty of numerous counts of fraud and assaulting a taxi driver.

And according to a supercomputer by City have the easiest run-in of all 20 clubs next term. The stats company has analysed the final 10 games of every top-flight side.

Ex-academy star jailed for fraud

A former Arsenal academy star has been sentenced to more than two years in jail after being found guilty of stealing money from his girlfriend and fraudulently processing refunds at a Pizza Hut.

Jaydon Thorbourne, a defender who had also spent time at sustained a career-ending hip injury aged 18 and in the eight years since he has been found guilty of 27 offences of fraud.

At Harrow Crown Court last Friday, Thorbourne, who was already behind bars for assaulting a taxi driver, was handed a two-year and five-month sentence for a range of charges that included cloning a girlfriend's bank card.

Arteta tipped for City

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta would be the ideal candidate to replace at according to Danny Mills.
