Justin Timberlake fans have all been left wondering the exact same thing following the troubled singer's arrest.
The Cry Me a River hitmaker, 43, recently found himself in hot water after being nabbed for driving under the influence. The internet was abuzz as the NSYNC star's mugshot, featuring his visibly red eyes, emerged on Tuesday.
Timberlake, who shares two children with wife Jessica Biel, was pulled over by the cops for suspected drink driving in the posh neighbourhood of Sag Harbor, Hamptons. The Friends With Benefits actor reportedly blew through a stop sign and was noticeably "swerving" behind the wheel.
Sources close to law enforcement spilled to TMZ that Timberlake seemed "glassy-eyed" and reeked of booze when they slapped the cuffs on him. The SexyBack crooner also supposedly failed a roadside sobriety test, struggling with tasks like walking straight or standing on one leg.
Despite this, he insisted to the officers: "I had one martini and I followed my friends home," as per an arrest report obtained by People magazine. Even though Timberlake's buddies tried to convince the cops to let him off the hook, the dad-of-two ended up cuffed, arrested, and taken away.

Fans of the singer have been left baffled by his arrest for drink-driving. Timberlake, who is worth an estimated $250 million, seemingly has the means to afford taxis and chauffeurs when unable to drive himself. "I’ve never quite understood why rich people drink and drive," one fan began on Twitter (X) as they discussed Timberlake's arrest. "As reprehensible as drink driving is, if it’s that or a $100 taxi fair to get home you get why normals take the risk. Why would a multi millionaire like Justin Timberlake do it though?"

Another referenced Timberlake's famous song SexyBack as they quipped: "Justin Timberlake with a DUI. Never mind Sexy back he should have got a taxi back."
The District Attorney of Suffolk County released a statement on Tuesday morning, revealing: "On June 18, 2024, Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor for Driving While Intoxicated. He will be arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court this morning. At this time, we have no further comment."
Timberlake made his court appearance dressed casually in a dark band T-shirt and an unbuttoned short-sleeved black shirt. In an attempt to hide his identity, he donned a black cap paired with dark sunglasses. The singer is facing charges for Driving While Intoxicated and has also been cited with offences for disregarding a stop sign and for failing to maintain his lane.
His hearing is slated for July 26, which coincidentally aligns with the kick-off date for the European stretch of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in Krakow, Poland. The potential impact of his arrest and impending court date on his world tour schedule remains dubious.
