Sarah Ferguson has addressed the whispers of a second Royal wedding with Prince Andrew.
The Duchess of York, who was previously hitched to the Queen's second son from 1986 until their separation in 1992 and subsequent divorce in 1996, shares daughters Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 34, with her ex-husband.
Since their decision to divorce, Sarah and the Duke have co-lived together at their home, Royal Lodge, on the Windsor Estate, where Andrew's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother lived. Despite their enduring closeness post-divorce, sparking rumours of a possible romantic reunion, Sarah has made it crystal clear that remarriage is not in their future.
In a candid chat with Bella magazine, she revealed: "I get asked that all the time. We are very happy as we are now, thank you!" Life under the Royal spotlight has been a rollercoaster for the 64-year-old writer and charity advocate, with a slew of false stories about her. She recalls one particularly outrageous claim that left an indelible mark on her.
Fergie recounted: "My life changed forever on 23 July 1986 when I married into the royal family. Of course, being in the public eye constantly brings challenges, but also great privileges. I hope I have used whatever platform I have to bring about some good, particularly in terms of my charity work."
Meghan Markle 'to unleash her own memoirs' as Prince Harry's drops next weekWhen quizzed about the most ridiculous rumour she's encountered, she responded: "Goodness, quite a lot of nonsense has been written over the years. One of the worst headlines was '82 per cent would rather sleep with a goat than Fergie.' It's never left me."
Fergie has made a heartfelt promise to the late Queen that she would always "be there" for Prince Andrew. The author and Duchess of York affirmed her commitment as the monarch had consistently stood by her son, who faced intense scrutiny over his ties with the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and allegations of sexual misconduct with one of Epstein's trafficking victims, Virginia Giuffre accusations he has vehemently denied.
Speaking on ITV's Loose Women, Sarah reflected on supporting Andrew through his "darkest times", saying: "We are longer divorced than married and I believe in the three C's communicate, compromise and compassion." She continued, highlighting their enduring bond: "That's what I do with (Andrew.) We get on because, in the darkest time of my life, he was always there for me. In the darkest time of his life, I will be there for him. The Queen of England was there for him his mum."
Ferguson recounted a poignant conversation with Her Majesty: "I said to his mum before she died, 'I will be there for him, I will help him on his journey,' we've all got journeys; we just need to be there with kindness and no judgement." Sarah also expressed her belief in standing by Andrew, whom she considers a "good man".
Despite their separation, the pair continue to share a home at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. In addition to maintaining a close relationship with Andrew post-divorce, Sarah also developed a deep friendship with the Queen, who passed away in September at the age of 96.
Taking on a role close to the Queen's heart, she has been caring for the royal's cherished corgis Sandy and Muick, which were originally a present from herself, Andrew, and their daughters.
