Gary Lineker's recent photoshoot for clothing brand Next has left social media users in stitches as they say the snaps look like they were taken in Chernobyl.
The Match of the Day presenter was seen standing in front of old-school machines with dials and flashing lights. But members of the public thought the stylish backdrop looked more like the inner chambers of the infamous reactor which exploded in 1986.
One user joked: "Gary Lineker chernobyl edit. exclusively for next. [sic]" And other users were quick to agree, with many asking if the snaps were made by artificial intelligence.
But the photoshoot was the real deal and Lineker, 63, was seen sporting a new beige range of clothing items. One person wrote: "Gary, tell us all about the retro-encabulator." Another joked: "Linen suit, tailored fit, high resistance to radiation."
A third user asked whether the clothing range would include "polonium shirts."

They wrote: "Just when you think Doctor Who can't get any worse." The new range includes knitted fit t-shirts and fashionable jackets.
On the Next website, the range bears the description: "Freshen up your style for the new season with Gary Lineker. Offering timeless appeal and classic cuts, the exclusive collection edited by the legendary man himself will breathe new life into your look that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
"Explore lightweight jackets, special event suits and easy-to-wear shirts that transcend day to night and work or play with ease."
The "dark stone suede shacket", worn by Lineker in the snap, was branded a "timeless addition" to any wardrobe. It read: "Our grey suede shacket is a winning style whatever the occasion."
