XBOX came under fire recently after the company shut down two of its more popular studios.
Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks were shut down by Xbox following the release of Redfall and Hi-Fi Rush, respectively, despite the latter’s critical and commercial success.
Redfall players can now get refunds for their DLC purchasesCredit: BethesdaThe Redfall studio, Arkane Austin, was able to put out an update for the game after the studio shutdown, implementing a number of bug fixes and improvements.
However, the DLC that was planned for Redfall was permanently cancelled, despite the fact that some consumers had already purchased it.
When Redfall was released, people could purchase the special ‘Bite Back’ edition, which included access to all future DLC.

People have started making posts on social media saying that they have received refunds on these purchases.
Those who get a refund will receive a message from Xbox stating they have been “identified as a Redfall player who purchased the Hero Pass”.
The message also states: “We have credited the value of the upgrade directly to your account.”
You should then receive an email from Microsoft confirming that you have received your refund.
The refund is available as credit on your Microsoft account, so you can only use it on further Microsoft purchases.
It’s been almost two months since Xbox shut down Arkane Austin, and Redfall players are pleased to finally get their money back.
Many are upset that they will never receive the content they were promised, but the refund goes some way to making things right.
