The Coola Scalp and Hair Sunscreen and Color Protection Mist with SPF 30 is sold for $28 at Sephora.

The product works for both the hair and the scalp itself.

It shields the skin on the head from the sun's rays to prevent sunburn.

Coola also works on color-treated hair by preserving the dye through SPF.

WHAT'S IN IT?

The hair sunscreen contains gotu kola extract.

According to Mount Sinai, the herb contains triterpenoids which are effective in healing wounds.

It's also formulated with monoi oil for added hydration for the hair and scalp.

The brand recommends spot testing the product, shaking it well, and applying it to the scalp and hair 15 minutes before heading into the sunshine.

Coola can be combed through strands to even out the application.

The brand also recommends reapplying the product every two hours for ultimate protection.

RAVE REVIEWS

Several Sephora shoppers gave their two cents on the hair sunscreen in the reviews section.

"Great for outdoorsy people," one wrote. "As someone who absolutely prioritizes skin health, I can’t believe I had never owned a scalp and hair SPF before this.

"I’m very active outdoors, hiking a lot, and I always make sure to wear sunscreen all over my face and body.

"This spray is a game changer for preventing a sunburned scalp (yes, it happens) and it also does wonders for protecting the integrity of my hair.

"It’s a super light mist, I was worried about it looking oily or heavy, but once I sprayed it on I didn’t even remember it was there.

"My scalp tends to get irritated easily, so I have to be careful with what products I use, but this one didn’t cause any issues.

"The scent is very nice, it does smell like sage, very earthy but not overwhelming. It goes away very quickly, so if you’re not a fan of scented products, this might still be okay.

"This little spray bottle is staying in my backpack from now on."

"Coola Scalp and Hair Mist is so refreshing," another wrote. "One spritz and I feel like I'm in a beach dress with my toes in the sand. I absolutely love the scent, it smells like a fresh, clean, sunny beach day.

"My hair gets a beautiful shine and it seems to nourish each individual strand. It's very lightweight so I don't need to worry that it will weigh my hair down or mess up whatever style I've done that day.

"My hair has such a healthy, luminous shine now and I've noticed a significant difference daily in the overall health of my hair. Not only does it look amazing but it smells amazing.

"I have used this everyday since I got it and don't want to go a day without it. It's nice to know that this is protecting my hair all while making it feel and look great.

"It's great for protecting your hair color, it's water resistant, vegan and cruelty-free. There's no other products like this, it's next level. Coola does it right every single time."
