Kourtney Kardashian has finally revealed the frightening turn of events which led her to her undergoing emergency foetal surgery.
The 45-year-old welcomed her first son with her husband Travis Barker on November 1, 2023. However, just weeks prior to welcoming Rocky Thirteen Barker, Kourtney had to undergo "urgent foetal surgery".
In late summer 2023, Kourtney was suddenly hospitalised. She's now opened up about the surgery and revealed for the first time the reason behind it. In the latest episode of The Kardashians, she said: "A couple months ago, we had a terrifying scare where I had to have emergency foetal surgery.

In another shot, Kourtney was seen in a hospital bed after the operation. Speaking over the video, she divulged: "Baby Rocky had to have foetal surgery for fluid in his lung and it's super rare that the condition he had but it's also super rare and lucky that we caught it. And thank you God for a successful surgery. I'm honestly just so grateful, I have no words."
Inside Kourtney's low-key New Year's at home with Travis & their kidsShe added: "I was definitely filled with fear after the surgery and the fluid in his lungs actually did start coming back and then I watched this documentary called Heal that was all about the power of positive thinking and how our thinking can really affect our health and then I started talking to the baby every day, saying my prayers and after I had that mindset shift, the fluid was completely gone and we had not one single problem after."
Kourtney also opened up about the ordeal during an interview with Vogue in late 2023. She shared: "That experience opened my eyes to a whole new world of pregnancy that I didn't know about in the past. It was terrifying."
She went on citing she wasn't aware that insurance generally "typically only covers two ultrasounds when you're pregnant." She further stated: "I've always been lucky enough to do more than what insurance covers, and it's one of those ultrasounds that saved my baby's life."
