Ademola Lookman landed himself a rare 10/10 in L'Equipe's player ratings after his hat-trick won Atalanta the Europa League.

The Italian side won their first trophy for more than 60 years as they dealt Bayer Leverkusen their first defeat all season. Lookman scored twice within the first 25 minutes before he completed his treble with an impressive effort late on in Dublin.

The Nigerian's individual performance was recognised in the French publication, who grade every player's performance. Landing full marks is a rarely achieved feat with the players who do so often having to produce a career-best showings.

Lookman was deemed surplus to requirements at Everton but has gone on to revive his career in Italy. He began as a teenager at Charlton, who gave him his debut and he's now flourishing in Italy as he said: "I've always had the confidence in my ability. In the past two years I've been able to take my game to a new level and show it on a more consistent basis."

The Atalanta star will now go on a list that doesn't even boast some of the modern greats, Cristiano Ronaldo for instance never managed to land a 10/10 performance according to L'Equipe. Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland are the only two men to appear on there twice.

Robert Lewandowski's four-goal haul for Borussia Dortmund when they demolished Real Madrid in 2013 has him on the list. Another four-goal performance ensured Neymar got himself on the list during his PSG days.

Dusan Tadic, previously of Southampton, took centre stage as Ajax stunned Los Blancos, then European champions, in the Champions League by humiliating them 4-1 at the Bernabeu in 2019. The playmaker was central for the Dutch side and was duly rewarded.

Lucas Moura's hat-trick for Tottenham, which dragged them from the depths of despair in Amsterdam to the Champions League final, saw him bag full marks. Kylian Mbappe has done so once during a stellar performance for France. Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry got full marks when he returned to north London and scored four as the German side hammered Tottenham 7-2.

Two goalkeepers in the modern age have landed it. Alban Lafont helped Nantes secure a shock victory over PSG, whereby the No 1 had to step up more than ever. Croatia's Dominik Livakovic also got a perfect 10 when he helped Croatia gain penalty shootout victory over Brazil at the recent World Cup. During normal time he made an incredible 11 saves.

In total the mark has been given out just 18 times to 16 different players, with all but four of them coming since the turn of the century.
