Footage captured by a passing driver, who tried to warn Tracy, shows the dog walker being knocked to the ground by the beast.

Tracy told KTUU: " I thought someone had not been paying attention and hit me with a bike or something.

"I had put my hands up to my head, and I’m like, ‘I’m bleeding.'"

Local resident Kate Timmons was in a car with her family when she started filming the moose.

As the massive animal started speeding up, Kate spotted someone walking on the path and shouted: "Watch out! Watch out!"

But Tracy did not hear her and continued her walk with her dog, Gunner as the moose can be seen slamming its leg into her head, knocking her to the ground.

Tracy said she had passed the moose earlier on their walk.

She added: "Knowing that the moose had been somewhere behind me and now, here this moose is in front of me, and I’m like, ‘Was that the moose?'"

After helping Tracy, Kate continued following the moose which kept walking down the road, honking their horn trying to get it out of the area.

She told the outlet: "It definitely seemed unprovoked from our standpoint and it happened so fast.

"It was just like, a matter of getting her out of the situation, getting her help, making sure, you know, my big thing was that she didn’t have a head trauma, that there wasn’t a bleed or something."

Tracy added: "Kate and I were discussing that the Lord put her in the right place, at the right time to be able to help."

Tracy said even though she is still suffering from headaches and bruising, the attack will not stop her from going on walks.
