Taylor Swift broke down in tears as she recalled the bitter Kanye West feud which was “one of her darkest periods”.
The Grammy-winning singer’s bitter fallout with Justin Bieber ’s former manager Scooter Braun is the focus of a new two-part docu-series, Taylor Swift Vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood on Discovery+. Their rivalry was cemented when in 2019, the music executive, who has worked with artists such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, purchased Taylor’s masters from her former record label, Big Machine Records.
Before Scooter purchased her masters, which has since prompted Taylor to re-record her albums in an effort to gain control over her music, the duo were involved in a controversial argument involving Kanye West, Back in 2016, when Scooter was representing the rapper, Kanye released his track Famous, which featured an explicit lyric about the Shake It Off hitmaker.

In the docuseries, one scene in particular focuses on the singer’s reaction to her public spat with Kanye and Kim - as well as Scooter - and confessed it was overwhelming.

Journalist Brittany Spanos, who is featured in the docuseries, revealed that Taylor’s own documentary Miss Americana pinpoints the moment she realised what the fallout with Kanye has done to her reputation. “I’m just tired of the… just… just feels like it’s more than music now at this point. And just, most days I’m like, okay, but then sometimes I’m just like… it just gets loud sometimes,” Taylor can be heard crying in the clip.

This was a period that she had found to be one of the darkest in her life. Her entire career was at stake where she felt like she might lose everything,” Brittany explained in Taylor Swift Vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.
Taylor’s team responded to the docuseries being released with a powerful statement, as they hit back at those who have tried to “take away from Taylor’s legacy”. They added: “Taylor has completely moved on from this saga and has turned what started out as an extreme situation into one of the most fulfilling creative endeavours of her life. None of these men will ever be able to take away from Taylor’s legacy as a songwriter, singer, director, philanthropist, and advocate for artists’ rights.”
