Piers Morgan has responded to Princess Anne's hospitalisation.

The royal was rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries during a walk on her Gloucestershire estate earlier this week, Buckingham Palace confirmed. The Princess Royal is believed to have been kicked by a horse while enjoying an evening stroll in Gatcombe Park last Sunday.

It wasn't look before Piers took to X, formerly Twitter, to break the news and send his regards to the royal, expressing his concern about the incident. He wrote: "BREAKING: Princess Anne is in hospital with head injuries after what is believed to have been a horse-related incident at her Gatcombe Park estate. Expected to make a full, speedy recovery."

"I wish HRH all the best," he continued. In a succinct six-word reaction, he commented: "Must have been quite a bang," and further remarked, "for this indomitable lady to allow herself to be hospitalised," reports the Express.

Morgan's 8.7 million followers were quick to respond to his update, extending their good wishes to Princess Anne. One user responded: "That's unfortunate. Wishing her a speedy recovery."

Another shared their thoughts by writing: "It's concerning to hear about Princess Anne's accident, and I join you in wishing her a speedy recovery. Accidents can happen unexpectedly, even to the most resilient individuals. It's reassuring that she is expected to recover fully, and I hope she receives the best possible care during her time in the hospital." A third chimed in: "Happy to hear she will make a full recovery." Another Royal fan echoed: "Yes she's tough and stoic."

The Princess Royal, a seasoned equestrian who competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, is reportedly awake, but due to Anne's concussion, the exact details are currently unclear. The 73 year old remains at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, "as a precautionary measure for observation" but is anticipated to make a full and quick recovery.

Buckingham Palace released a statement saying: "The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.

"The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole royal family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to the princess for a speedy recovery."
