Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she shared strategies for reducing under-eye bags and dark circles.
BITESIZE BEAUTY
Rabor said various factors cause dark circles and under-eye bags including genetics, high stress, exhaustion, environmental factors, and a poor diet.
How to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetimeShe revealed they can become more prominent with sun exposure, smoking, and poor sleep.
She said an anti-inflammatory diet can improve the overall appearance of the skin.
“Think fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats,” she said.
“Tomatoes contain an antioxidant called lycopene, which boosts circulation and protects blood vessels.
“It is advisable to reduce the intake of red wine and caffeine while maintaining hydration by drinking plenty of water.
“Dehydrated skin can make the dark circles look more prominent. Additionally, excessive salt intake can lead to fluid retention around the eyes.”
SLEEPING BEAUTY
Rabor said puffiness and dark under-eye circles can be triggered by a lack of sleep.
She recommended opting for a specific sleeping position to avoid unsightly skin conditions.
“Insufficient sleep leads to decreased oxygen levels around your eyes, causing blood vessels to dilate and appear darker, which results in dark circles,” she said.

POWERFUL PRODUCTS
To avoid puffiness and hyperpigmentation, Rabor said SPF should be applied regularly and sunglasses worn to protect the eyes.
She said there are many other skincare products formulated to tackle dark circles.
She listed Dr. Sam’s Flawless Nightly Eye 2% Retinoid Serum, REN Radiance Brightening Dark Circles Eye Cream, and Medik8 C-Tetra Eye as some products that stand out.
“Effective ingredients to look for include vitamin C, caffeine, hyaluronic acid, tri-peptides, and ceramides.
“Azelaic acid stands out as particularly beneficial for dark circles, especially those caused by sun damage," she shared.
QUICK FIXES
Rabor suggested temporarily easing puffy eyes by applying a cold compress to the skin under the eyes for 20 minutes.
“Not only is this soothing and feels great, but it can also help soothe the skin around your eyes, make the veins less prominent, and make the skin less puffy,” she said.
She said makeup can be used to color-correct undertones and make dark circles less prominent.
“For instance, dark blue or grey undertones can be minimized with a peach concealer, while pinky or red tones can be neutralized using a yellow-based product,” she said.
“Additionally, using a light reflective concealer can help bounce the light out from under the eye."
