AFTER more than 30 years on the air, The Simpsons has earned its reputation for seemingly predicting the future.

With 2023 on the horizon, a TikTok compiled some of the wildest predictions made by the long-running cartoon in the upcoming year.

From a supposed war to a new virus, here are some things The Simpsons has apparently warned us about, however, all of these claims are unfounded.

A video shared by TikTok user @rantersc, also known as Claire, seemed to predict that a new virus will come in 2023 along with “several wars.”

The video featured a screenshot of Homer Simpson walking around with a bell and a sign reading: “The end is near.”

Other predictions included “inflation of the whole world” and “a female president.”

A Youtube channel, Top 5 Scary Videos, shared a video with a similar theme about the scariest predictions from the program for 2023.

One prediction included humans traveling to Mars.

“Look, eventually we’re gonna have to leave this planet behind,” said Taylor Smith, the host of the channel.

In the 16th episode of season 27 of The Simpsons, called The Marge-ian Chronicles, Marge and Lisa volunteer to be some of the first humans to travel to and live on the red planet.

Exploration Inc, a private company, hopes to send people to the planet to colonize it by the year 2026.

By the end of the episode, the mother and daughter end up living on Mars by the year 2050.

In our world SpaceX, helmed by billionaire Elon Musk, has the goal of traveling to Mars, speculating in the past that humans would travel to the planet by now but have pushed back their predictions.

Musk has long been vocal about his ambitions for colonizing Mars.

"If we are able to make life self-sustaining on Mars, we will have passed one of the greatest filters. That then sets us up to become interstellar,” Musk wrote on Twitter last year.

“Earth is ~4.5B years old, but life is still not multi-planetary and it is extremely uncertain how much time is left to become so,” he added.

Another chilling prediction made by the channel is the rise of zombies.

“This one came up a lot more than I thought it would as I was looking for Simpsons predictions,” said Smith.

“Somebody in the writer’s room has a very firm belief that this is how society is gonna end.”

Zombie attacks have happened in multiple Simpsons episodes over the years.

In an episode, Days of Future Future, zombies are part of everyday society as Lisa works in a soup kitchen looking after the undead.

“Is this a glimpse into a dark future?” Smith proposed.

Instead of being treated as the end of society, zombies in the episode are compared to lower-class humans compared to the living.

“I hope The Simpsons never ends if nothing else so they can always be around to predict the future,” said Smith.
