Soaring temperatures across the UK could come to an abrupt end tomorrow after a spell of warmer weather.

Temperatures even topped 31c yesterday in Chertsey which hit the highest recorded in 2024 so far. Its the also the first time the mercury has been in the 30s since September. Wales even saw a record-breaking 27.7c in Usk, Monmouthshire yesterday, meaning that all four nations have seen their warmest weather of the year to date.

The UKHSA has issued a heat alert for the whole country, which is in place in most parts until Thursday at 5pm, but some areas are already seeing the cooler weather washing in. Northern Ireland and Scotland have already seen lower temperatures, with all parts of the country expected to follow suit over the next few days.

The Met Office say central, southern and eastern England will still be warm and dry, but will experience clear spells and fog patches overnight. Elsewhere rain is moving across from the west, which will be heavy in the north and it will also turn windy in the northwest.
