The security guard accused of plotting to rape and murder presenter Holly Willoughby sent horrifying voice notes regarding his plans to kidnap her.

Gavin Plumb, 37, has been in custody since October 2023 and has been charged with soliciting a man - David Nelson - to commit murder, as well as incitement to commit a kidnapping between October 2 and 5 in Harlow, Essex. He denies two charges of plotting to kidnap and rape between December 2021 and October 2023.

This Morning star Ms Willoughby, who waived her right to anonymity, was alerted to the alleged plot mere moments before going on air for an episode of the ITV2 programme. Police officers discovered millions of images of Ms Willoughby and other female celebrities on his electronic devices, Chelmsford Crown Court heard. Plumb had also shared 'deepfake pornography images of Holly Willoughby' online with an individual called Marc.

On Wednesday, prosecutor Alison Morgan KC took the jury through evidence with Detective Constable William Belsham, of Essex Police. The voice notes he sent detailed his search for a location to 'hold her' as well as his plans.

In one voice message, he said: "Nothing’s confirmed yet, mate. Don’t celebrate too early but it looks like… back on track for once. Obviously, you’ll find out when everything is planned. Yeah, we’ll go from there." Plumb also told Marc in a voice note that “my place might be better” to hold Ms Willoughby “because there are cameras everywhere”.

He said: “The only thing we’re missing is somewhere to hold her.” In the voice note, Plumb said: “I still think my place might be better cos there’s cameras everywhere. It’s just a temporary thing, hold her here you’ve got bed, you’ve got warmth etc.”

Plumb also asked Marc to get to England so that he could 'be part of it'. Plumb sent: "The chloroform bit is going to be fun, picking the outfits is going to be fun. So if you can get to the UK, to England that’ll be awesome because then you can be part of it." He also said he was "struggling to find a building".

Plumb told Marc he would be 'more than welcome to be part of it', saying in one note: "Mate, seriously… As I’ve said to you before, It’s going down. Whether it’s me, you, whether it’s me and someone else and you come and join in later. You go get your **** sorted. As I said, mate, you’re more than welcome to be a part of it."

Discussing Ms Willoughby, who has presented Dancing On Ice, with Marc, the defendant said in a separate voice note: “We’re using your idea for the wait until DOI is done once DOI’s done we’re literally getting everything in place. The only thing we're missing is somewhere to hold her."

In December 2022 the defendant set out his plans once he got into Ms Willoughby's home, including suggesting using ‘metal ties’ to tie her up before restraining her husband Dan Baldwin.

Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC played to the jury two voice messages allegedly made by the defendant. He said to Marc: "Plan of action, basically, we are going to hit it at night, less traffic on the road. Chloroform both of them, making them easier to restrain. Pick out outfits of hers we like, take her and the outfits with us and then we're gone.

"We are then going to force her to make a video saying she came with us under her own free will and she's fully consenting to everything we do to her so that covers us." The court heard how Plumb had talked about getting chloroform, noting it is not illegal to buy or own in the UK. He claimed to have bought two bottles online for £9.20, the court heard.
