Joe started his Body Coach fitness movement in 2014 by posting HIIT videos to YouTube and has gone on to build an empire. He's amassed a reported £14.5m as of 2022 through his recipe books and online coaching, as well as his YouTube channel. During lockdown, he started his PE With Joe campaign, which aimed to keep kids fit when schools were closed.

Joe shares much of his personal life on his Instagram with his followers and revealed his decision to homeschool his daughter Indie was down to a simple desire to spend "more time" together as a family.

When asked about the reasons behind homeschooling, Joe responded with a picture of India and explained: "There's really nothing more to the decision than we just love being together as a family and want to spend more with the kids while we can. She had a great year in reception but we have always loved teaching the kids at home and want the freedom to travel more and explore the world. She might go to school next year. We have no idea long term but want to do at least a year of home educating."

He also opened up about the challenges of adjusting to life when his third child, Leni, was born, admitting he felt "frustrated and stressed". Confessing to New magazine, he said: "I'm used to getting eight hours. When I wake up and I've been woken up three or four times it really breaks your sleep," To cope with the stress, Joe reiterated the importance of physical activity: "I'm tired, I'm frustrated, I'm stressed when I wake up. My instant reaction is to move my body, to release it."
