TERRIFYING night-time screams alerted police — who found it was actors rehearsing Frankenstein.
A couple walking past a 14th-century barn heard thuds and shrieks from within.
They called the police who then found local thesps practising a scene where the big-bonced monster bludgeons a victim to death.
They were rehearsing at 10pm, the same time their play was to be performed at the Tithe Barn in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire.
Police confirmed they were called due to “concerns for the welfare of individuals”.

Andrew Morrison, director of the Bradfordians Dramatic Society, said the stage adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel was “scary and violent”.
He added of the passing couple: “They were pretty scared — I felt a bit guilty actually, because it can’t have been much fun for them.
“However, they were really good about it and they saw the funny side almost immediately.
“With hindsight, we should notify the police in advance of our future rehearsals.”
Wiltshire Police said of the drama: “We’d like to thank the members of the public who did the right thing.”
