Chocolate fans have been left devastated after Nestle confirmed that a popular bar had been officially discontinued.

Fans recently took to social media to share their frustration as they were unable to get their hands on a Yorkie Orange. First launched in 2021 at the height of the orange chocolate craze. Simply, the bar was a normal Yorkie bar infused with a hint of orange flavouring and fans loved it.

One X - formerly Twitter - user asked Nestle where the chocolate bar had gone as they had been out of stock in their local area for "months". They said: "What’s happened to the orange yorkies? They have been out of stock all over West Yorkshire for months. When will they return?"

However, Nestle delivered news they did not want to hear saying: "Unfortunately, Yorkie Orange has been discontinued from our range. We'll definitely let the team know that you would like to see it back." In a follow up post, Nestle said Yorkie Orange always intended to be a limited edition treat, and although sales were good there were no plans to reintroduce it permanently. They added: "However, our marketing policy is constantly under review and your comments have been noted."

The X user was shocked to hear the news saying that the product was "ten times better than Terry's Chocolate Orange" adding: "Why on earth has it been discontinued?! I’m not surprised sales were good, I bought 500 of them. Shame." This user was not the only one venting their frustration online. Another X user shared: “I just want an orange Yorkie. I’ve been to THREE shops and I can’t find one.” A second added: "They’re so good, I saw loads of them at the start of the year and now I can’t find any.”

When a food product - such as a chocolate bar - gets discontinued often fans can still get them in discount stores. At the time of writing, you could not get the Yorkie Orange bar in any major supermarket store. However, in April, Poundstretcher shared an X post saying customers could pick up the Yorkie Orange Duo Chocolate Bar for just 79p. According to its website, Home Bargains is also selling boxes of 24 for £11.76. This works out at 49p per bar - however when added to the basket on its own, delivery fees sat at £3.95, taking the cost up to £15.71 overall.
