A UK beach that tourists describe as the "stuff of dreams" has wild ponies grazing on sand dunes and mesmerising sea views.

As you saunter beneath tall Corsican pines, observing the mobile red squirrels, with the sparkling sea in the distance, you'd be forgiven for imagining yourself on America's west coast. As you journey onwards, a stunning sandy beach unveils itself, and the towering peaks of Eryri loom in the background, leaving you awestruck.

This Welsh haven holds a wealth of natural treasures; you may catch sight of ospreys swooping for fish or wild ponies on vast moving dunes. The entrance to Newborough forest leads to dog-friendly Traeth Llanddwyn beach.

But the real jewel in the crown is Ynys Llanddwyn - an impossibly beautiful and romantically picturesque location that photographers flock to. With such exquisite scenery, it comes as no surprise when one recent visitor labelled this place as the "stuff of dreams".

The irresistible combination of Newborough's woods, beach, and warren garners rave reviews from all who visit, North Wales Live reports. "What a wonderful place! " Exclaimed an Essex family during their trip.

"Pine trees, nature reserve, dunes and a beautiful sandy, shallow beach."

Another visitor, Charlotte from Herefordshire, couldn't help but sing high praises for the locale: "The beach is gorgeous and the water is clear. Probably one of the best beaches in the UK, and the forest was lovely too."

Bar the forest area, the entire surrounding landscape is a national nature reserve under the supervision of Natural Resources Wales. The forest boasts a series of footpaths and clearly marked routes, plus two bike lanes and a trim trail designed with fitness enthusiasts in mind.

Llyn Parc Mawr provides an excellent opportunity to glimpse elusive red squirrels, whilst the Cefni estuary has frequent osprey sightings. The spectacular views and wildflowers of the sand dunes are not to be missed.

The nature reserve and forest feature no less than seven parking areas, some distance away from the coastal scene. As expected, many seashore-lovers make their way towards the beach car parks, consequently creating a bit of a crowding situation.

Early arrival at these sites proves useful, additionally parking site exit queues can form later in the day.

Sharing experience on Tripadvisor, one visitor commented: "The facilities are excellent with plenty of parking, clean toilets, and outside shower," and recommended: "Spend the day here, take a picnic, relax, paddle, swim and explore. Fantastic for all the family."

Only three out of seven car parks charge visitors, the remaining four do not require any payment. Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology is utilised to monitor vehicle presence and users can settle their dues either by cash or card upon exit (£2 for two hours and 40p for every extra 20 minutes, up to £7 limit per day).

Starting from the beach car park, a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk extending 53 metres connects to a viewing platform set over the sand dunes, which can sometimes be masked with sand especially following poor weather conditions. .

Natural Resources Wales is on a mission to tackle the shifting sands dilemma and is calling on locals and tourists alike to pitch in with their "Newborough People Plan".

"We know how popular the site is with residents and visitors, and people are just as important as nature and woodland at Newborough," they commented. "Understanding how they use the site is a significant part of knowing how to manage this dynamic and changing place in the face of the nature and climate emergencies."
