Sky TV presenter Hayley Palmer confirmed on Instagram Stories that she and Mark Labbett from The Chase have ended their one-year relationship.

Sharing the news with her followers, she posted: "It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. We had the best year together, and I truly wish him all the very best for the future."

Concluding her statement, she hinted at her heartbreak by stating: "Off I go to listen to Taylor Swift " accompanied by a broken heart emoji. The announcement came just a week after the pair marked their first anniversary with a beach trip, reminiscent of their initial date.

Mark, 58, famously known as The Beast on the ITV quiz show, celebrated the milestone with an Instagram post featuring Hayley and him at their nostalgic seaside spot. The caption read: "One Year Anniversary. Same beach, same bench."

Their last photo together saw Mark cuddle into his girlfriend on the exact beach where they became an item. Just one week ago, just one week ago Mark and Hayley were all smiles on Southsea beach as they posed in the sweet milestone photo. The pair had travelled to the Hampshire coastline for their first anniversary and visited a bench close to their hearts and the place where they first revealed their love for one another.

Hayley, 42, made things official with Mark a year back. About their first encounter, The Beast told The Sun: "We found a bench in a peaceful spot by the beach and spent hours talking and getting to know each other, so we've decided to go back to celebrate our anniversary. As luck would have it, there's a rather nice Beefeater near to where her parents live. They already know Hayley's order - nachos and chips."

It comes after Mark revealed that nearly didn't end up with Hayley. The Beast recently recalled how the pair met during the National Television Awards two years back when his agent revealed in front of her that he had got the quizzer a Toby Carvery gold card. From there, the pair hit it off and after a date, both of them were adamant they wanted to get together - not that The Beast knew that was the case.

Speaking about how they first met, Mark revealed: "It was at the National Television Awards in 2022 when our then mutual agent said he got me a Toby Carvery gold card and she was like 'what?' You can take it along to Toby Carvery and take people with you and get some discount. For panto, I took the cast and crew out for a big Christmas party."

Richard then went on to ask about their 16-year age gap, with Hayley chiming in to add: "But I feel like we're pretty much the same... I think we just get on really well. It kind of works - we're different, but it works."

Mark admitted that after their first date, he had no idea if she liked him or not. He recalled: "I haven't got a clue. I sort of said, 'I really like you, any chance of a second date?' and she goes, 'I've been flirting with you all evening'," to which Hayley jumped in to add: "I didn't! I played it coy, I said 'maybe'," as the pair joked about their romance.

Hayley exclusively revealed to The Mirror recently that she feels very "safe" with Mark - and knew he was The One. Speaking about the card, she said: "It was a fun kind of ice breaker. Then he messaged me the next day, and we were having a little chat, and he was like, 'Maybe I’ll take you to that Toby Carvery'. I was just laughing about it, I thought we were just friends."

"And when he agreed to drive down to Portsmouth to see her, she added: "That's when it clicked that there was more to it. We were walking along this beach, and I was like, 'he's a really nice guy, such a kind gentleman. I feel really safe with you'. It was a simple moment. Whatever this is, this is really nice. It's really special because we were friends first."
