NINE out of ten burglaries went unsolved in some parts of the country last year, police figures reveal.
Some communities saw massive rises in break-ins not busted by the cops with just six per cent of cases leading to a person being charged.
Police failed to catch three in four burglars across the UK in 2023 as reports soared to 215,000 - the equivalent of 592 a day.
However in some areas, the rate of unsolved smash-and-grab hits was much higher than the average.
Leafy Elmbridge, in Surrey, had the worst record in the country as 92 per cent of burglary reports probed by police were dropped without a suspect being nicked.

Some 91 per cent of burglaries went unsolved in South Cambridgeshire, while 90 per cent of cases went unsolved in Runnymede, also in Surrey.
The figures were compiled by FOI requests to police forces across the UK by the Liberal Democrats.
It comes as party leader Sir Ed Davey will today pledge to launch a Burglary Response Guarantee as part of his manifesto.
Sir Ed said: “Too many families now feel unsafe in their own homes because this Conservative Government has decimated frontline policing for too long.
“Victims are being denied justice because Conservative ministers can’t even get the basics right on solving crime.
“That is why the Liberal Democrats would deliver a Burglary Response Guarantee, to ensure all home burglaries are attended by the police and properly investigated.”
Surrey Police and Cambridgeshire Police were asked to comment.
Tory Policing Minister Chris Philp hit back by branding the Lib Dems "cynical" and claiming they "do not have a plan" to tackle crime.
He added: “A vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote for Sir Keir Starmer and the Labour Party."
