Mark Labbett and Hayley Palmer have separated, with the news coming after the former couple celebrated their first anniversary together at a beach just days ago.
It was announced this week that professional quizzer Mark, 58 - best known as 'the Beast' on ITV's the Chase - and TV presenter Hayley, 42, have separated. The news was shared by the latter in a post on her Instagram Story on Saturday.
The news came just days after the pair celebrated their first anniversary last week. Mark and Hayley, who are said to have first met at the National Television Awards in 2022, both marked the occasion in respective posts on May 16.
Following the announcement that they have split up, it has been suggested that the former couple "wanted different things". It's also been reported that Mark felt that there was "too much of an age gap" between him and Hayley.
A source told the Sun: "Mark had a lovely time with Hayley and has a lot of respect for her but they wanted different things. She loves getting dressed up and going out to parties and showbiz events, whereas he prefers to stay at home."

They added: "Mark felt there was too much of an age gap between them for long-term success." The source said that the former couple are "still friendly" though, before further commenting on Mark's life away from his career on TV.
The source went on to tell the outlet that the professional quizzer "enjoys a quiet life" and spending time with his son from a previous relationship. They said Mark is "still hopeful" that he will meet someone to "settle down with one day".

She continued: "We had the best year together, and I truly wish him all the very best for the future." Alongside an emoji that depicted a broken heart, the presenter concluded the post by telling fans: "Off I go to listen to Taylor Swift."
Last week, the pair marked their first anniversary with a trip to the same beach where they are said to have enjoyed an initial date. Mark wrote alongside a photo of them at the location: "One year anniversary. Same beach, same bench." Hayley shared the same caption in her own post at the time.
They have previously spoken about their relationship in interviews. Asked about the age difference between them, Hayley said on Good Morning Britain earlier this year: "I feel like we're pretty much the same [...] We just get on really well." She added: "It kind of works [but] we're different."
