In a horrifying ordeal, missionary David Lloyd, 48, listened over the phone during the brutal murder of his son and daughter-in-law.
David had been talking to his son Davy, 23, who was with wife Natalie Baker Lloyd, 21, when they were unexpectedly set upon by a criminal gang. Before he was tragically killed, Davy alerted his father to an impending "commotion".
The couple were in Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital, which has seen a surge in gang violence following a massive prison break in March 2024. The young missionaries, with Davy being the son and Natalie, the daughter of Missouri Representative Ben Baker, worked at a non-profit organisation called Missions in Haiti, originally founded by David Lloyd and his wife over two decades ago.

Relating the chilling moment, David shared: "I was on the phone with my son when that was going down. He said, 'Dad we've got a commotion again. I've got to see what's going on."
Man who 'killed 4 students' was 'creepy' regular at brewery and 'harassed women'Only the day before the grim incident, David had travelled from Haiti to Oklahoma, leaving Davy and Natalie to oversee the mission's school, children's home, and bakery. The pair left the mission church along with several children when they were violently ambushed by members of the Terre Nwa/Terre Noire gang.
David, the dad of a man savagely attacked during a terrifying home invasion in Haiti has spoken out, revealing that his son Davy Lloyd was beaten and tied up while the attackers stole from the property. Speaking to The Herald, David said, "They drove him into the house, tied him up and beat him. Then they proceeded to loot the whole house, everything they wanted and took my trucks and drove off with them."
Tragically, this wasn't the end of his ordeal. While Davy was still tied up on the floor of their vandalised home, he was murdered by a different mob along with his partner and Jude Montis, the director of the Haitian mission the couple were a part of.
The attack came abruptly after David's son was untied by the brotherhood that robbed them, who had previously kidnapped children until their departure using three vehicles and a large amount of stolen goods.
David expressed his anguish, stating: "They eventually got into the house and killed all three of them. I'm just at a total loss. I'm just in total shock. I haven't grieved. I haven't done anything else. I haven't eaten. I can't think."
