Controversial Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight contract details emerge

British boxing legend Carl Froch claims Mike Tyson will be paid LESS if he KOs Jake Paul this summer.

Heavyweight legend Tyson will take on YouTuber Paul in an eight-round heavyweight boxing fight in Texas in July. The fight has been engulfed in controversy with both fighters forced to come out and insist the bout is not staged or scripted.

But Froch, who reigned as a super-middleweight world champion before turning his hand to punditry when he retired, claims Tyson will earn less if he wins in the first round - or stops Paul at any point over the 16-minute fight.

"From what I’m hearing with the contracts, allegedly, he gets paid less if he wins in round one, Tyson, or if he gets a knockout he gets paid even less," he told Safebettingsites. "There’s restrictions in his contract based on how he wins. I don’t know if it’s been confirmed, but I’ve read somewhere that there’s a clause in his contract that means he’s going to earn less money if he goes out there and destroys Jake Paul."

Paul and Tyson have come together to insist their fight is legitimate with the latter saying: "A lot of people are doubting me, a lot of people are saying if Jake wins then the fight is rigged because of how great he looks.

"Age is just a number, he's a killer and he's a warrior. He's been doing this his whole entire life so its second nature to him. I've been doing it for four years and I've been doing it a super-high level but I'm going to prove I can out-box Mike Tyson. I'll be the one doing the killing."

And Tyson tweeted: "This fight isn’t scripted as some haters in boxing community want you to believe. This is a sanctioned fight and I’m knocking Jake out." Paul replied: "I love you Mike. But you are the one getting knocked out. And f*** the haters saying it’s scripted."

Paul is currently the favourite to win the fight with the bookmakers and will enjoy a 30-year age advantage in the ring. Tyson has not fought professionally since he quit on his stool after five rounds of his fight with Kevin McBride in 2005. He took part in an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr which was scored a draw after eight uneventful rounds.
